Itinerary

Day 1 of 6
Arusha → Tarangire National Park → Karatu

Your safari begins after breakfast in Arusha, as you set off towards Tarangire National Park. The drive takes you through local villages and open countryside, offering a glimpse into daily life in rural Tanzania.

Upon entering the park, your game drive begins immediately. Tarangire is famous for its towering baobab trees and large elephant herds, often seen gathering along the Tarangire River. As you explore deeper into the park, you may encounter giraffes browsing peacefully, zebras grazing across the plains, and possibly lions resting in the shade.

You will stop at a scenic spot for a picnic lunch, surrounded by the sounds of nature, before continuing your afternoon game drive. As the day comes to an end and wildlife activity begins to slow, you will exit the park and head towards Karatu, where you can relax and enjoy dinner at your lodge.

After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the Ndutu region, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive offers spectacular views of the highlands before descending into the vast southern plains.

As you approach Ndutu, the landscape opens dramatically, revealing endless grasslands dotted with wildebeest and zebra herds. During the calving season, this area becomes one of the most active wildlife regions in Africa.

You will enjoy a game drive en route to your camp, with your guide interpreting animal behavior and helping you spot predators that follow the migration.

Full Day – Ndutu (Calving Season Experience)

Today is dedicated to exploring the Ndutu plains, the heart of the calving season. You will start early in the morning when wildlife is most active, increasing your chances of witnessing predator action.

Thousands of wildebeest calves are born here within a short period, creating an extraordinary spectacle. The presence of so many young animals attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, making this one of the most dynamic wildlife environments.

Throughout the day, your guide will track movement across the plains, positioning you for the best sightings while explaining the complex interactions between predators and prey.

A picnic lunch will be served in the bush, allowing you to remain immersed in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Morning Game Drive → Central Serengeti

You will begin the day with an early morning game drive in Ndutu, when the plains are alive with activity. This is often the best time to witness predators on the move and the herds beginning their daily migration.

After the morning safari, you will return for brunch before starting your journey towards Central Serengeti National Park.

As you travel north, the scenery gradually changes from open plains to a mix of grassland and acacia woodland. Wildlife remains abundant along the way, and you will continue game viewing as you drive towards the Seronera area.

By late afternoon, you will arrive at your lodge or camp, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Serengeti.

Full Day – Central Serengeti

Today is spent exploring Central Serengeti, one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. The region is known for its high concentration of predators and resident wildlife throughout the year.

You will set out early in the morning to take advantage of the cooler temperatures when animals are most active. You may encounter lions resting under acacia trees, leopards hidden in branches, or cheetahs scanning the plains for prey.

The day includes both morning and afternoon game drives, with a picnic lunch in the bush. Your guide will continue to track wildlife movement, ensuring you experience as much of the Serengeti as possible.

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha

Your final safari day begins early as you depart the Serengeti and head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Upon arrival, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder often referred to as one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the world. The crater floor is home to a dense population of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and the rare black rhino.

You will enjoy a game drive inside the crater and stop for a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

In the afternoon, you will ascend the crater and begin your return journey to Arusha, reflecting on the incredible experiences of your safari.
