This 7-day safari is designed to offer a complete Northern Tanzania experience, combining iconic wildlife destinations with the dramatic Great Wildebeest Migration river crossing. Day 1 of 8
Arrival – Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide.

Arusha → Tarangire National Park → Karatu

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, a beautiful park known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees.

Your game drive begins upon entering the park, where you will explore open savannah, seasonal rivers, and wildlife-rich areas. Tarangire is especially known for elephants, but you may also spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and many antelope species.

After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing and lunch in the park, continue to Karatu for overnight.

After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Serengeti.

Enjoy a game drive en route to Central Serengeti (Seronera), one of the richest wildlife areas, where you may encounter lions, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest.

Today you head north towards the migration corridor.

As you travel through different regions of the Serengeti, you will notice changes in scenery and increasing numbers of wildebeest and zebras moving towards the Mara River.

Arrive in Northern Serengeti (Kogatende area) and enjoy a game drive near the river, where migration activity often takes place.

Full Day – Northern Serengeti (River Crossing)

This is the highlight of your safari.

You will spend the day near the Mara River, tracking the wildebeest herds and waiting for the dramatic river crossing. These crossings are unpredictable but incredibly rewarding when they happen.

The area is also rich in predators such as lions, hyenas, and crocodiles, making it one of the most exciting wildlife experiences in Africa.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Central Serengeti.

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Karatu

Depart early from Serengeti and drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

You will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most unique wildlife habitats in the world. The crater is home to a dense population of animals including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and the rare black rhino.

After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, ascend the crater and continue to Karatu.

Lake Eyasi (Hadzabe) → Arusha

After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi for a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe tribe.

You will have the opportunity to join a traditional hunting experience, learn survival techniques, and gain insight into one of the last hunter-gatherer cultures in Africa.

After the visit, return to Arusha in the afternoon.
